When espresso is exposed to air, it releases chlorogenic acid, which intensifies the bitterness of the final product. After that, the crema, heart, and body all melt together, turning the shot into a lifeless mush. Because of this, espresso cannot be reheated or kept in the refrigerator.
However, what if the idea of reheating espresso was never even on the table? In truth, you’d always intended to serve it chilled. If you want to prepare an iced latte or espresso martini, can you keep the espresso in the fridge?

There’s nothing to worry about. For the most part, I suppose the only reason you can tell the difference is that you brewed it yourself and you know it’s been chilled. If you take your mind off the matter, you won’t notice the change.
